Also known as Floating Licenses or Concurrent-Use Licenses.
Network licenses are not assigned to specific end-user computers, they are instead served from a nominated license server computer to end-user computers on the network. Network licenses can be served to any number of end-user computers on a first-come, first-served basis. The supplied license server software issues network licenses on request until the total number of network licenses are all in use.
The advantage of a network license facilitates a much higher utilization of the software and licenses, especially when there is a large number of occasional users.
Network licenses can also be used without a network connection thanks to license borrowing functionality. With license borrowing, licenses can be temporarily borrowed from your pool of network licenses, which is ideal for occasional mobile use. This offers tremendous flexibility for home-office working, and for sales representatives who can now present their proposals at the customer’s site.
