The Standard Parts Library of Your Choice

You may know that CAD Schroer’s STHENO/PARTS standard CAD parts library is available in 6 fixed packages ranging from of 50 to 250 DIN/EN/ISO standards (150 standards = about 100,000 CAD part symbols). Now you can also buy STHENO/PARTS FLEX, which allows you to choose exactly which standards are contained in your package of either 75, 100, 125 or 150 standard CAD parts.

The New Way to Create Geometry

The new Smart Drafting Tool automatically infers construction lines

The new smart drafting facility in STHENO/PRO ADVANCED™ provides the means to quickly and easily generate geometry without the need for construction lines prior to drawing. The Smart Drafting Tool allows construction lines to be automatically inferred between points created and displays them dynamically as the cursor moves inside the drawing area.

Text Handling and DXF/DWG Conversion

Unicode makes it easy to create multi-lingual drawings like this, using Japanese character sets

Unicode provides a universal architecture and encoding for all languages of the world, with nearly 100,000 characters currently encoded. This means more multi-language support for STHENO/PRO, and even better integration with other systems.

With Unicode you can now:

	Use any scaleable operating system font on all supported platforms
	Cut and paste text from your Web browser to the STHENO/PRO text tool
	Exchange data with other systems

The CADConvert interface for DXF/DWG conversion now:

	Reads and writes up to AutoCAD® DWG 2012
	Reads and writes Unicode (the most common AutoCAD ANSI code pages)
	Imports AutoCAD layer names
	Exports group names as block names
	Imports splines (NURBS) as curves

STHENO/IMAGE COLOUR™

Use STHENO/IMAGE COLOUR to easily incorporate graphical analysis or property data of design components for manufacturers or end customers

The new colour raster module, introduced with STHENO/PRO version 2.2., allows customers to incorporate full colour images and scanned drawings into their designs. Around 90 major image formats are now supported. Existing customers with the bitonal STHENO/IMAGE product can upgrade for a small fee. Both products now support up to 5 separate rasters in a design, with the option of saving them to file (associated with the sheet) or directly in the sheet.

Typical applications include:

	Addition of a colour-shaded view of a 3D model, to supplement a dimensioned drawing. (Unlike other systems, STHENO/IMAGE COLOUR allows you to store the image within the sheet.)
	Insertion and management of scanned paper designs - monochrome or colour - to avoid unnecessary rework
	Incorporation of maps or other colour-coded diagrams as supplementary design information
	Insertion of colour graphs and other images from non-CAD software for illustration or sales and marketing purposes
	Provision of graphical instructions or photographs for downstream applications
	Incorporation of graphical analysis or property data (such as visual stress analysis or heat transfer data)

SMART Edit

The Revolutionary Engineering Solution for Dynamic Design Editing

Most of our customers' time is spent modifying existing designs - people change their minds; drawings need to be adapted to new customer requirements; ideas don't work in practice; errors need to be corrected...They have been asking for a tool that approaches editing challenges in an intuitive and intelligent manner, and works the way engineers do, addressing engineering issues without a huge learning curve.

For the STHENO/PRO ADVANCED package at revision 2.0, our engineers looked at the issue of design changes from an engineer's perspective.

They came up with an intuitive, mouse or numerical entry-driven tool, firmly based on engineering principles. SMART Edit, a completely new and innovative concept in dynamic design, delivers results quickly and accurately by providing "parametrics on demand" - intelligently deducing existing geometric relationships during editing operations. It offers many of the capabilities of constraints-based and parametric systems, without the need to define a full set of constraints. Because of its novel approach, it can typically handle at least 10 times more data than traditional solutions.
