MPDS4 STEEL DESIGN is an optional MPDS4 PLANT DESIGN system module. It offers extensive functionality for quickly creating, editing and detailing steel structures, including steel frames for buildings and equipment supports used in plants, factories or large assemblies. The 3D software offers a series of configurable, user extendable catalogs of steel sections for many worldwide steel standards, and offers powerful tools for intelligently loading, positioning and replacing steel components, including steel beams, platforms, stairs and ladders. The steel structures created with the software can be exported as 3D models. 2D drawings can be generated automatically. Integrated consistency checking and clash detection play a vital role in quality assurance. Automatically generated reports, BOM (which include weight and area for painting) and parts lists can be used to monitor project profitability.
